Losing weight seems daunting. It seems long and hard-fought like it will be the hardest battle. And it is.

Until the next battle.

Maintenance.

After fighting the battle of the bulge and winning comes the next challenge. You must keep it off. You can’t gain it all right back, going to all your bad habits and “celebrating” your loss with a binge. It’s why most crash diets and crazy diet trends don’t work – they don’t teach you to train and change your mindset.

I have found a few techniques that I plan on working on during my next phase of self-care and maintenance. My goals are:

• Tone – get more fit, tighten and build the muscles that I neglected while I lost weight
• Keep it off
• Meal plan consistently and follow it

How I plan to keep it off, you ask?

First, I plan on meal planning the crap out of my life. That’s not to say I will spend my life meal planning, on the contrary, I plan on spending as little time as possible doing it. As I have been losing weight, I have perused Pinterest* and found healthy, clean, and tasty looking recipes. From that, I have spent time building a meal plan for myself for a month, including all meals and snacks. That way, once I reach my goal, I can start on that meal plan, and since I have different meals for 4 weeks, I can just keep repeating it, without getting tired of the food! (In theory. Let’s be honest, there will be cheat days.)

Tell me in the comments! What are your goals? What is your focus? How can I help YOU to reach your goals??
